Stampede
Our flagship robot is 30 pounds. The current design revolves around a vertical spinner weapon that will have a tip speed of over 180 mph and weight around nine pounds. For comparison, this impact will be equivalent to a 200-pound person crashing at 25 mph on a bicycle. This, combined with a drive speed of over 20 mph will help us be competitive at NHRL. The force strength will require the frame and weapon systems to be built from space grade aluminum, impact resistant grades of steel, and composites such as Kevlar and carbon fiber.
Future Bots
Moving forward, we hope to add as many as four new bots. This will include a new 12lb horizontal spinner and several new 3lb robots as seen on the right. These will allow us to get more students involved and teach people the skills they need for larger projects. It also increases opportunities for team management. All of this will not only help us compete at more levels, but to develop our team into the best engineers they can be.
