Crimson Combat Robotics Begins Journey to NHRL 2025

On October 21, 2024, Crimson Combat Robotics held its first official meeting, marking the launch of its journey to compete in the National Havoc Robot League (NHRL) in Fall 2025. The team is committed to designing and building a 30 lb combat robot to participate in the competition in Norwalk, Connecticut.

Structured for Success

Crimson Combat Robotics is divided into specialized subteams to streamline work and focus on key areas:

• Mechanical: Design and construction of the robot’s structure and weapon systems.

• Electrical: Management of power systems, wiring, and controls.

• Fabrication: Manufacturing and assembly of robot components.

• Marketing & Business: Fundraising, sponsorship outreach, and public relations.

This structure ensures each subteam can concentrate on its responsibilities while contributing to the overall success of the project.

Securing Resources and Funding

One of the team’s primary objectives is securing sufficient funding to support the design and build process. Crimson Combat Robotics has already received a donation from Kratos Defense, but further financial backing will be needed. The team’s Marketing & Business subteam is actively pursuing additional sponsorships and donations to meet this need.

Meetings and Upcoming Events

Crimson Combat Robotics will hold weekly meetings every Wednesday at 4 PM, with the location to be announced soon. Next week, the team will host several presentations to provide a comprehensive introduction to combat robotics, covering essential topics such as weapons design, strategy, parts, and materials. These sessions will be invaluable for new members or those looking to deepen their understanding of the field.

For those interested in joining the team, there is a $25 membership due, which must be submitted by the end of November.
